Inspiration

Architecture has always been something I look to find unique shapes and structures for 3D designs. These photos specifically got my attention due to the ways the curves interact with each other.

Brainstorm

Originally I explored multiple avenues that could aid the process of nail painting and the health concerns associated with this routine that is meant to be beautiful.

2D Sketching

Ideas from initial brainstorming were carried through into the sketching phase. I wanted to conceptualize experiences keeping in mind users may have rituals and different concerns for their self care.

3D Sketching

Once some forms were developed, blue foam was used to bring them to life and give space to touch and feel how the experience may be enhanced.

SolidWorks and KeyShot Renders

Controlled curves were a classy yet relaxing solution for how this product should feel. A sculpture that can fill your space on a shelf but also has the functionality to let you know this is a healthier method.

Photo Realistic Model

When a final form had taken shape, I completed a model through 3D printing and post processing with paint colors. This model even included wiring and functional buttons to show the experience of my design.
